If I were to convince you to renew your mind according to the Word of God… to only think the way God thinks, which will cause you to act the way God acts, would that be so terrible?
In that case why is it that some of us get so nervous when we hear “the battlefield is in the mind.” As if the mind were a small thing? We think there’s got to be “more” of a battle, or that demons are just so powerful. Or maybe the curse of the generations are too strong… etc. If so, let’s talk about the greatest generational curse, and how it started. How was the enemy able to wield his power against Eve? Was it not by influencing the mind through deception? He didn’t come with a big cannonball and take over like he had all this right to power. No. He, an angelic being, had to work through permission – permission from the one in charge (Adam/Eve). He could only gain access to power by getting Eve to converse with him, to think about what he was suggesting, and then to agree with him.
This is how it all started. The enemy and his demons got the use of their power on earth from us through permission and sin, and have been using it against us ever since. If you think they’re powerful, it goes to show how powerful we were made to be.
But Jesus Christ restored that power to us, and made it even better! Authority comes with stewardship and responsibility. Use your authority. Take responsibility for your thought life and domain. PRAY, TEACH and DEMONSTRATE to others to do the same. That is how you bring change. That is the warfare. The Battlefield is in the mind. The soul of a man (his will, his thoughts and his emotions) is no small thing. Everything else follows after. Everything else is just a manifestation of what took place after you decided to agree with God, according to His Word, or agree with the devil according to his lies.
