But first, whose opinion is that anyway? We’ll talk a little more about opinions later, and whose opinion actually matters the most – but for what it’s worth, it’s mine, and hopefully it’s yours, or it can become yours.
See, being a total knockout is somewhat about beauty, but not this common, limited and narrow definition of beauty that only includes a few people and certain types of looks; which only lasts for a while.
It’s a forever beauty inside and out that factors in even your “flaws.” It’s a powerful, moving and shaking force; that’s so unique, captivating, and authentic that it can stop things dead in their tracks! That’s like being stunning.
And what do people mean when they say they’re stunned, as Lisa Bevere asked? Are they talking about physical beauty? No, they’re saying something just hit them hard, and they’re trying to process what they’ve just sensed.
You may or may not feel like what I’ve just described, and that’s okay, because I’m not talking about what you may currently be experiencing. I’m reminding your heart of your true and original intended identity. The real potential that’s in there, that may never have been unlocked.
Now back to opinions. Your original design is the work of The One who created you, and His thoughts about you are the ones that actually matter the most. Not the ones from media, not the mirror (or what you think the mirror is saying back to you; and not even friends and family. It’s God’s opinion that matters the most – because He made you, and He loves you!
But how and why? Think about this. How high of an opinion would you need to have of someone in order to die for them? Clearly you’d have to think they were really worth it. And that’s what God did for you when He sent His perfect, only beloved Son, Jesus Christ, to earth as a sacrifice to pay the price for your life and mine and restore you back into a relationship with Him. [John 3:16-17]
He was brutally beaten and then killed on the cross (even more treacherous) and went to hell and back for you. After 3 days and 3 nights, He rose from the dead so that you too can have His eternal life now and life after death.
Wait, what price? Earlier on, I mentioned that He paid the price for your life: The price of sin.
When the first humans chose not to trust God and instead disobeyed Him, sin came into the world. This caused spiritual death (separation from God, which eventually ends us up in hell – the place of eternal separation from God, and unimaginable torment). This is also the cause of every evil thing we now see in our world! Understand this – it is sin that sends us to hell, not God. [Romans 6:23]
By listening to and acting on the lies of the devil, they gave the devil the power God originally gave to us.
Everyone born since then has been a sinner by nature. If you’re honest with yourself you understand this in your heart. [Romans 3:23]
Now here is the incredible thing – all this drama didn’t change God’s love toward us!
See, legally, the price for sin has to be paid over and over again, and can never be satisfied by our attempts through religion, good works or animal sacrifices. It’s actually true that we’re not good enough on our own. But God wanted us rescued once and for all, yet that would require perfection from each and every individual. However, since Jesus is God and is also human, He has no sin in His nature; therefore He is perfect.
So even while we were still in our sin, Jesus did the most heroic thing – He became the perfect, more than good enough sacrifice, taking our place of eternal punishment in hell, so we could go free and have eternal life with Him now and in Heaven. He did this once and for all, and its a Free gift to anyone who believes. [Romans 5:6, 8, 17]
Jesus, and only Jesus could do this. [John 14:6]
What a huge exchange! We can now have His life – the real life, the new knockout identity with the true Righteousness, Peace and Joy that only Jesus brings! [2 Corinthians 5:17-21]
The name Jesus means The Lord is our Savior, or The Lord saves! And His salvation encompasses freedom, rescue, deliverance, defense, health, help, prosperity, preservation, welfare, and victory. That is power!
And all this is because of His grace! Understand this – Jesus is a person, not a concept or religion – and you get to have a relationship with Him. And when you have Jesus, you have Grace – a confident love, favor and approval you can never earn or take the credit for. [Ephesians 2:8-9]
Through His Mercy He saved us from the punishment we deserve; through His Justice He put the punishment we deserve on Himself; and through His Grace He gives us more than we could ever deserve.
He gives us the new, real, total knockout identity. He no longer calls us sinners, but calls us His children and you don’t mess with a King’s children! You are now royalty.
Here’s my proposal to you – If you want this kind of love and freedom. If you want to get in the adventurous ride of discovering Jesus along with His truths and all He has for you in this life and the life to come; all you need to do is Believe Jesus. Surrender your heart to Him and ask Him to be your Love, Lord and Savior! Trust Him to put His own Holy Spirit in your heart and be your guide forever.
Ask Him to show Himself to you every day through His Word as you commit to a local church and friends that believe in Jesus Christ and everything He teaches us in the Bible.
Again, whether you’re reading or listening to the Bible, meditate on His Words daily and trust Him to reveal Himself and speak to your heart through His Word. He is The Living Word.
You will increasingly discover His great power and incredible love for you and grow confidently in your new and BEloved identity.
Remember, what you focus on, you become; and transformation comes by beholding Jesus! [ 2 Corinthians 3:16-18 ]
Know this – you are forever loved and qualified by Jesus! If He loved you that much while you were a sinner, how much more now that you are a BEliever?
[Ephesians 1:6; Romans 5:9-11]
So what do you think of the proposal? If you accepted Jesus into your life for the first time, or rededicated yourself to Him, that’s over the top fantastic!
